What's Our Why?!

Plumbers and dripping taps… when I am engaged by a new communications client I ‘start with the ‘Why’ (as Simon Sinek would say). To be more accurate, I start with the ‘Who, What, How and Why’. That process gets all of us, and the company’s clients/potential clients, on the same page.

Did I do that with my styling business? No, of course I didn’t!!! Like any other founder, I ‘just started’. To be fair, there was an articulation of what I was doing. And to be even more fair, my observation is that for many on the same journey as me the problem in getting a new business off the ground is not starting without infrastructure, it’s getting out of your own way and actually starting.

However, after six months of developing my styling craft, and hustling to get Reveal Styling off the ground, it was time to do unto myself as I would do to others. I also finally managed to find a graphic designer who would help me (reach out for details, he was amazing!).

Over the weekend I started to launch a proper visual identity for Reveal Styling, and I have articulated what it is I want to do for my clients. We are now ‘dressed for the job we want’.

I look forward to helping as many of you as I can to ‘be you inside and out’, ‘express yourself through style’, and to taking you through a process that will ensure that ‘your wardrobe works hard, and for you’!

Dressing unashamedly as ‘me’ has been transformative, and it’s helping me thrive. Interestingly, when I saw an old friend in London recently, who had been watching my evolution and posts from afar, he observed that styling seems to have ‘unlocked’ something in me - I hadn’t used that word to myself, but I think it is true.

Now I blend my personal styling skills with all the communication insight I have gathered over more than 25 years, to help others do the same. I have not stepped away from my crisis communications, and media and public relations, world. I do both, often together, because style is a language that is very important in all parts of our lives.

Send me an email to find out how I can help you!
