Wardrobe Restyle: Work Dress

Sometimes we ‘grow out’ of things. We, and our style along with us, evolve.

This dress was one of my favourites, but I haven’t reached for it this year.

Objectively, I can see it looks great. But is something else more me now, to take its place in my work wardrobe?

I have tried wearing it a few ways. It works with both a white shirt and a black turtle neck under it, so versatility is not the issue. I just don’t think I’m this ‘classic’ dress-wise, on the occasions I need to be ‘suited and booted’ anymore.

What to do 🤔 - 👍 or 🚮?

Before making a decision, I experimented with some new looks I have seen recently, using clothes I already own, and took some pictures. Its clear that I have some of the ‘trends’ I am drawn to already hiding in my wardrobe. Looking at yourself ‘in abstract’ also helps. And it makes it easier to use my stylist skills.

I also want everything in my wardrobe to be versatile. As much as I can wear the dress with layers, having separates is definitely more versatile than a dress, for lots of occasions, moods and weather ✅✅✅

Conclusion: The dress is in great condition and fits really well, but it’s not ‘me’ anymore - it is time to say goodbye. Release Rail’ for the burgundy dress.
